During my Spring semester of college in 2018 I attended an “Advanced Typography” class, and our final project for it involved representing the fear of our choice in an openable poster. I chose to represent pyrophobia, the fear of fire, in my final product. It takes you through the mind of someone with this fear, and shows you what they might be seeing, thinking, and feeling when met with their fear. It starts off small, like someone lighting a match, but for the person with the fear it quickly devolves into chaos. In the end you can see a fire team fighting the flames in the distance showing the audience the real reason for this hypothetical person’s phobia.
