I created this redesign for Walter Dean Myers' Monster back in the Fall semester of 2017 at Champlain College. It was our goal to update covers to our favorite books, so I opted to create three different versions of the same book that represent the three main locations that exist within the story. The prison, the courthouse, and the gas station are all important locations to the story that helps the reader paint a picture in their mind, and understand what the book is trying to convey. Hypothetically each location that orders copies of this book would get one version of the cover, while other stores and libraries would get the variant versions giving fans a set to collect similar to comic books.
